Launched in 2004 by caring community members, the Women and Girls Fund brings diverse women together through charitable giving. It gives donors the opportunity to pool resources in order to more effectively address issues of importance to women and girls. The goal is to provide annual grants to organizations that help women and girls in our area, now and far into the future.

In pursuit of our mission, the fund will:
• Respond to health, nutrition, safety, shelter, and educational needs of women and girls
• Engage women as donors and expand their opportunities to address the diverse needs of women and girls through focused community grantmaking
• Build a permanent endowment to provide ongoing support for organizations serving women and girls who are at risk or in need

“We all know a woman who has inspired us or helped us along our path—a mother, grandmother, friend, or mentor. But what of the many other women whose lives are endless struggles? Struggles for rent, for childcare, for nutritious food, for education, for transportation, for help to escape violence?”
The Women and Girls Fund brings diverse women together through charitable giving. We’ve funded programs such as:
  • Political Science camp for girls
  • Pregnancy Prevention Program utilizing crying “babies” for young women living in a residential treatment facility
  • Landscaping and Household Services for elderly and disabled women
  • Stress Management and Healthy Living Program for high school girls
  • Transition to the community programs for women who were incarcerated
  • Employment Programs for single parents
  • Diabetes Prevention Program for low income women

Our grants are making a difference!

We are building a permanent resource to support exceptional nonprofit work in our community so that all women and girls can feel safe and valued. Ambitious? Yes! But, together we can do it!
